untitled273
Main Character, Wu Chen.
In this place, people from a small village used to pray to a god, Zhong Kui 鍾馗 who is the Vanquisher of ghost . They build a statue for him as a pay of respect for the peace that he brought to them. Unfortunately many died before the sculpture was completed and it was eventually stopped as the place seems to be very evil. Hence the statue of Zhong Kui remains guarding at the place, However it's not vanquishing ghosts and demons but human beings. Rumours said Zhong Kui is angry at human for abandoning the plan, and some said ghosts and demons have taken over the place. Whatever it is, nobody dares to get near the statue as no one ever returns after stepping on the ground of Zhong Kui Valley.
Le Zhun Cave(乐尊洞), a place where the villain Qin Kui lives. Here Qin Kui kept most of his captured victims sealed in the ground of the caves, slowly consuming them day by day. Souls tried to escape but were trapped among the cursed marking on the ground.
Hi guys, these are the background concept art for my college assignment, we're required to come out with a story and design 3 characters (a main, and two villains), a "level A" background which is exterior, and also a "level B" background which is interior. Do give me your comments so that I can know where to improve on, thank you so much!!

Colour studie from movie still. The objectives are to capture the value and colours from observations, trying to keep the brush selection to the minimum, no eyedropping, no layers, and no zooming. These studies last from 30minutes to 1hour long.
A lot more to catch up, gotta work hard. Thanks for viewing

REFERENCE
BLOCKING
HI-RES MODELING
TEXTURE, LIGHTING & MATERIALS
FINAL RENDER STILL
Hi guys, this is my college's 3d modelling assignment, we're require to get any reference from the internet that we like, and build a 3d model based on it.
I've chose to model out Eugenio García Villarreal's 3d model in CGSociety.
This was meant to be for study and practice purpose, So I hope it's ok for me to do this lol.
Everything was modeled in Autodesk Maya, and textured in Adobe Photoshop cs5, on and off in 13 weeks. Seriously this was really fun to do, learnt a lot during this 13 weeks, felt really worth it. More to come in the future!
Comments are always appreciated, so dont be easy on me.

Puteri Gunung Ledang Exterior Concept Art - Majapahit Istanate
Puteri Gunung Ledang Interior Concept Art - Majapahit Meeting Hall
Hi guys, these are my Concept Art class final project. This time we're assigned to redesign any movies chosen by ourselves that is somehow lack of design aspect and looks plain or not very interesting in terms of architecture or surrounding. And yeap the movie that we chose to redesign is Puteri Gunung Ledang (2004), a local made film. We've found that the backgrounds, landscapes and surroundings that were filmed in the movie is pretty poor or not very well defined to show the epicness of the culture there. I've picked out two out of the many poor locations, which is the Majapahit Istanate and their Meeting Hall. In the movie, yes I cant really fell the designs of the architecture. They barely show it lol...anyway not much crap, here are my final outcome. Eventhough I didnt succeed to please myself, but I hope you guys will dig :)

Yep, a big one for me today. Finally hit one of my target this year, a Daily Deviation from deviantART, which I've been trying to get for so many years. Eventhough they featured my not so favourite piece, but screw it :D So the next target will be CGChoice Awards from CGSociety. Okay this one might take another 5 years of work!

A 20 minutes speedpaint that I did live in college's Student Sharing session today, 25th July 2011.
Another 15 minutes of touch up at home.
Was the 2nd time I demonstrate how I paint in front of so many people, the last time was during secondary school. The only difference this time is that I'm actually talking a little bit about my process when I paint, so it's a whole new experience for me. Was a fun time! Should have look at the projector next time, tho :p

Concept art class assignment, this time doing conceptual architecture. I chose to do a Chinese temple which was built on a mountain. I always love to see nature surrounding man made stuff, unlike in the city, everything was so crowded, pollution everywhere, corruption everywhere. Anyway, not much strong concept on this one, I just wanna mix two different culture, a chinese dragon protecting its base over a western dragon's attack. The CG was very rush tho, I could have added a few more elements inside if I managed my time better but owell...
And yeah i admit that there's not much shadow projection on this, eventhough we're suppose to focus on that part =___=

A practice from Conceptual rendering class. Learnt how to apply "jump" on character rendering, which is to apply tones in different value to make the character looks interesting. Then, without focusing too much on light source, we have to apply a "hot spot" in the character during the rendering stage, to make it as a focal point. Took an artwork from the awesome Saejin Oh, as a study.
